I've written this here, because I don't want to be censored there.
Bp has withdrawn, leaving only Kbok and Moonstorm.
After spending a few hours reviewing the ups and downs of giving someone scripting access, I've decided against it. It'd require an immense amount of documentation and support on my part, and it'd be really easy for a scripter to accidentally break something permanently that would require an administrator to fix. Due to the lack of interest from most people in continuing this game's development, I think it's best if we just stick with the current tools the game provides, and having designers and artists pushing the content forward as best they can, without scripting changes.
That being said, I invite Kbok and Moonstorm to join our staff, pending Hardcz's approval.
Kbok, if you're still interested in working on the game without scripting access (being a designer or tester instead), please let us know.Moonstorm - The game is certainly desperate for new art. If you're still interested, please post here, and Hardcz can give you access to the Designers forum so you can start getting involved. Also let us know if you're interested in being a Tester as well?
Due to the disputes between Hardcz and Blink, and the absence of Blink to resolve these disputes, I'm putting Hardcz in charge. This means he will be acting as Lead Designer until such time as he doesn't want to, or finds someone else to fill the position. He will also be in charge of any changes to the staff, as he sees fit.
Hopefully this will encourage the future growth of the game!
Here is my thoughts:
It is correct that I withdrew from any designing position from Shilla.
Like I've stated in previous instances and in many places, I no longer have the desire to train and play in Shilla. However, I felt I could do something with Shilla to try and make it more exciting and give it freshness it truly desires.
I've compared the work of the correct administration team(Blink(may or may not been involved in this), MT, and CZ), and I've come across an underlying effect from this version to the older version of Shilla. These include:
- Weakened Weaponry
- Increased difficulty in obtaining items(through drop rates and life values)
- Increased difficulty in killing monsters(proven through data crunching)
All these lead to more grinding then what was done before. I disagree with this. I think grinding should be laid out for later in the game, when people have already invested time into the game, so they feel like they've gone far enough that it'd be worth it to continue. This is my opinion, and I would listen to other's opinions as well on this matter, if they feel what's been put out is logical.
When asked to comment on the above thoughts, MT claimed he had no idea what the progress was of the game, and that he's left the control of the game to his designers. Designers who hadn't logged into the game forums in over a week(Blink) and a month(CZ). MT told me he'd put out a forum post asking them if they needed a 3rd person. Blink had tried to talk me into asking about it, and since CZ, being gone for a whole month, gave the impression he quit on the game, I figured what the hell. Blink and I have worked together in Shilla before, so I'd give it a shot.
Then MT made the post about opening up for help.
And CZ all of a sudden reappears. For being gone for a month, his posts on the job openings makes it believe that he'll be the boss and honestly, I'm not comfortable with him asking those questions. I would be willing to work alongside him, as long as my ideas, along with anyone elses, gets merit and consideration, along with discussion. His attitude makes me feel like my time would be wasted, just like I think Blink feels, and all that would happen is disagreements and flaming.
I don't have time for it, and so there is why I pulled out.
The other part of this is the singling out of Blink, and promotion of CZ to lead designer. I haven't talked to him since I read this, so none of this is me speaking for him, but just my own thoughts.
Blink does full time college and full time work. His free time with the end of the semester with finals and whatnot, is crammed. His absence was posted, noted, and when he had the time, he had ideas he'd put to use.
While this post makes it seem like he's getting punished for his absence, his absence is nothing compared to both you MT, and you CZ.
Obviously, MT, you run the game, so we can't punish you for your absence, but I think letting Nappa on as a alternate admin in the beginning would have made the game better. But I can hold you for your stance against Blink, but your lack of one for CZ. I can only conclude you 2 are real life friends and so everything CZ does can be swept under the rug.
I do hope CZ, as lead admin, you actually do something for Shilla. Or you have the courage to get the hell out of the way and let Kbok, Blink, and/or anyone else that becomes interested, run the show.
